Heart Rhythm Meditation (HRM) improves your physical health by strengthening your physical heart. But it also does much more. It helps you heal, develop, and energize your emotional heart, the center of all feeling, the container of love that is the essence of your being. These emotional benefits of meditation are to be sought after.
Our heart is where our emotions are found. The heart is the center of our emotional being. As I have meditated on my own heart these past 4 years I have found myself becoming more comfortable with my own emotions. And that is important to me. I was not very comfortable with my emotions growing up. Learning to meditate on my heart has allowed me to perceive my own emotions more as energy to be aware of and less as something fearful to avoid.
Meditating facilitates centering and presence. Centering helps to accumulate positive energy, which helps with maturity, perspective and balance. Centering is the first step in meditation. It helps with presence and stillness of the mind and body. The more time you can spend in the present, now, the more energy you accumulate and the more you awake to your authentic self.
Learning to focus on the breath and heartbeat, you will begin to slow your thoughts and gain control over your emotions. By that I mean that you will start to view your emotions in a different light. Emotions are really just energy moving in your heart. Breathing exercises you will learn on this site will enhance your emotional well-being. You will feel a softening in yourself and your Heart Rhythm Practice will calm your emotions.
Other emotions you may feel after practicing Heart Rhythm Meditation for a while are optimism, happiness, influence, passion, and confidence.
